  • Establishment of the Department of Medical Parasitology and Entomology at the Institute of Endemic Diseases.

  • Head of Malaria Research Group, at IEND University of Khartoum.

  • Establishment of Parasitology Research laboratory, University of Khartoum.

  • Establishment of Parasitology Department at malaria Administration, Ministry of Health.

  • Coordination and organization of a number of workshops and Short training programs at IEND.

  • Establishment of DANIDA Laboratory at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Khartoum.

  • Co-ordinating and teaching in malaria training courses held for different personnel Categories. These courses were held at the Malaria Training Centre, Sennar, Sudan and Khartoum H.Q.

  • Supervision and establishment of malaria laboratories in different parts of the Sudan.

  • Participated in the annual planning and implementation of malaria control programmes in Sudan and production of annual reports during that period.

  • Participated in the preparation of plan of action for malaria control in 3 regions in Sudan, these programmes were supported by the World Bank, African Development Bank and Japanese Development Agency (1989-90).

  • The role of strain specific immunity in the development of strain specific immunity (Tropical Medicine Award, The Wellcome Trust Fellowship, UK) 1998-2001 (PI) (Successfully completed). 

  • The role of antigenic variation in maintenance of asymptomatic malaria infections throughout the Sudanese dry season 1998-2001 (TDR/WHO) (PI) (Successfully completed).

  • Natural History of PKDL and it is role in transmission TDR/WHO2 1999-2004 (PI) successfully completed.

  • Bio Mal Par  Project (Investigator) (EU) 2004-2006

  • Epidemiological study of malaria in areas of seasonal malaria transmission in Ethiopia and Sudan (WHO/TDR MIM) (PI) 2004-2007.
